BARTENDER
Under the general guidance and direction of the General Manager & Beverage Direction, the Bartender at The Mulberry House Brewery will excel at applying empathy to every guest they care for so they may create and maintain our guest’s loyalty, while ranking their teammate’s needs even higher. They will be an expert at prioritizing in order to produce efficiency in this fast-paced, multi-faceted, neighborhood restaurant.
This is an amazing opportunity to learn and grow under the guidance of an award winning Beverage Director.
Essential Duties
- Perform all tasks required to open the bar and set up for service, including preparing garnishes and syrups.
- Prepare beverages for guests at the bar and in the dining room.
- Serve food to guests at the bar and in the dining room, as needed.
- Provide warm and welcoming service to guests, create memorable guest experiences.
- Guide guests through any questions and make intentional recommendations.
- Anticipate guests’ needs and create strong guest relationships; recognize regulars and industry leaders.
- Maintain current knowledge of all food and beverage menus.
- Assist in create seasonal cocktail lists.
- Assist with monthly liquor inventory.
- Maintain facilities in compliance with DOH standards.
General Responsibilities
- Maintain current and accurate knowledge of the menu.
- Maintains a clean, well-groomed, professional appearance in accordance with our company/department Standards of Appearance policy.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.

- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to clearly communicate operational tasks in English is required.
Education and Experience
- At least 2 years experience in a high volume environment and/or working in a craft cocktail program.
- Previous experience with restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems preferred.
- Culinary and/or Beverage Degree/Certification(s) preferred
BARISTA
- The Barista will run coffee shop service each day and inspire team members to work together and hold one another accountable to the standards set. The team member will display warmth, and hospitality as they perform the Front of House duties and responsibilities expertly and efficiently. This role could also include administrative work, opening or closing duties, or stepping in to needed roles in the restaurant as business demands.
Work with brand new La Marzocco I espresso machine, pour house-made seasonal sodas and kombucha on draft. We partner with brands such as Counter Culture Coffee and In Pursuit of Tea.

- Use strong communication and listening skills to effectively deliver accurate messaging to both guests and all teammates
- Acknowledge and positively engage all guests at the expediting counter while managing guest expectations
- Demonstrate an understanding of enlightened salesmanship and seek opportunities to inform guests about additional offerings
- Carry yourself with a warm, welcoming demeanor when interacting with guests and coworkers

- The Shift Leader will have a thorough understanding all aspects of service at The Mulberry House Brewery and can jump in at a moment’s notice to support all areas of the business.
- Team members are expected to execute guest facing service as well as back of house tasks at an expert level.

The Porter/Food Delivery person is responsible for the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and facility to ensure strict adherence to proper sanitation standards. Additionally, the Porter/Food Delivery person is required to handle multiple daily responsibilities including delivery, display an ability and willingness to take direction, and work in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Washing Dishes – by hand or using dish machine
• Pot washing – by hand
• Sorting and removing garbage
• Nightly deep cleaning
• Maintaining a clean and orderly workstation
• Following all food safety standards vigilantly
• Food delivery to downtown Washington, must have own bike

• Able to lift 50 lbs. and spend most of the day on your feet
